Extractions

You may have been told a tooth cannot be saved, and it needs to be extracted. Teeth may need to be extracted for a variety of reasons, included but not limited to: an active infection, large cavities, severe gum disease, to make room for orthodontics, a fracture, or a cosmetic concern. Dr. Allyson Supowitz is trained to atraumatically extract teeth to preserve as much of the surrounding bone as possible. If this tooth will be replaced with a dental implant, sufficient bone is necessary. She will evaluate whether you may be a good candidate for an implant to be placed immediately at the time of extraction, or if bone grafting at the time of tooth extraction is necessary to help maintain the bone in the site for future implant placement.
