Most dentistry, unfortunately, is noticeable. We believe that the art of dentistry is at its best when it is undetectable or “seamless”. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.

Where damage to a persons tooth or teeth is significant, we sometimes use porcelain or porcelain fused to gold crowns to make the teeth and smile appear like new. This is a reliable technique for repairing even the most severe of dental problems, providing a complete smile and a functional bite. We have a reputation for the outstanding esthetics, fit and finish of our work and the positive changes we have been able to achieve for people. Crowns are durable solutions to simple and complex dental problems.

How long does it take?

Restoring a tooth with a crown typically requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, take an impression of the tooth and fit it with a plastic temporary crown.

On the subsequent visit we will remove the temporary crown, try-in the final crown and refine its bite and color. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you have a beautiful natural looking tooth.

What are the key benefits?

  • Offers support to compromised or broken teeth.
  • Repairs smile and functional chewing problems.
  • Looks completely natural.

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Crowns are very reliable solutions for dental problems including wear, breakage or structurally compromised teeth. Numerous problems can be corrected with crowns. Materials used in these restorations are often a porcelain or porcelain fused to gold. When teeth or fillings have broken down or when teeth are short from excessive wear, crowns can be a long-term solution.

Many people have unexplained pain from a cavity-filled back tooth and the cause of the pain is often a hairline crack in the tooth itself. Placing crowns on these teeth usually relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can weaken the teeth and leave them susceptible to staining and chipping. Porcelain crowns are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. The more damaged the teeth, the more crowns are required for long-term solutions. On teeth that have had root canal treatment, crowns can prevent tooth breakage.
